Keuka Yacht Club is centrally located on the west side of Keuka Lake between Hammondsport and Penn Yan, in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. The mission of the club is to encourage and support Yachting, both sail and power craft, on Keuka Lake, and to provide and sustain a clubhouse and sailing facilities for recreation and use of its members.
Keuka Yacht Club provides a clubhouse and sailing facilities seasonally, opening around Memorial Day and operating through September. The club's main attractions include sailboat racing every weekend, a harbor with slips for powerboats and larger sailboats, junior sailing instruction classes, and general access to beautiful Keuka lake. Annual membership dues are nominal. A strong volunteer force keeps the club's costs down.
Sailboats have been racing on Keuka Lake since 1872 when prize money and innovative designs were standard. Today, the boats sailed are strict one-design classes ranging from the high performance E-Scow to the international class Lightnings . Both are strong fleets in this area, especially Lightnings, with many inter-club rivalries and regional regattas. Our newest fleet is the MC-Scow fleet, started in 2002. We also have an active Cruising fleet that has started to do a few regattas throughout the sailing season in addition to the annual Lusitania Cup typically sailed the 4th of July weekend. The club has also single handed Sunfish and the double handed Club FJ sailboats for rent to qualified members, see the membership page for more details.
Membership at Keuka Yacht Club is one of the most affordable ways to gain access to Keuka Lake. If you are interested in racing sailboats, crewing in these races, renting a slip for your boat, or relaxing and enjoying beautiful Keuka Lake with your family, the Keuka Yacht Club is a VERY affordable choice.
KYC also has more than 40 slips available to its members for motorboats and cruising and day-sailing boats up to 25 feet.
