The LKSF Junior Sailing Program is one of the oldest in the United States, founded in 1953 as the Keuka Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program.
The LKSF Junior Sailing Program operates from the Keuka Yacht Club.
The program maintains the philosophy that sailing is an excellent way for children to learn self-reliance, self-esteem, and sportsmanship. Today’s LKSF Jr. Sailing Program is U.S. Sailing approved (U.S. Sailing is the agency governing sailing and yacht racing in the United States, including the Olympics). All of our instructors are U.S. Sailing Level One Certified and CPR and First Aid certified. We believe that sailing should be educational, a source of personal satisfaction, and fun.
Group Sessions for Youths ages 8 and up. Private adult, individual or group sessions may also be arranged.
Sessions are 4 days, Monday thru Thursday (except the week that contains the 4th of July), from 9am to 4pm each day. Students are responsible for their own lunches. A refrigerator is available for perishable items.
Classes sizes are limited to insure dedicated instruction in a safe and inclusive manner. Boats used are the Flying Junior Sloop (FJ), Laser and Sunfish.
- General Sailing: $295, additional students of same household: $245
